How to Use Palme Oil (Or Why Should I Put Oil In My Hair?)

Posted by: jopiazza |
Tagged in: Untagged

The Huile de Palme is one of our best sellers but is also one of the products we get asked the most about.

"How do I put oil on my hair?" folks are always writing to us. It is an honest question. We have spent a lifetime putting chemicals in our hair to make sure it isn't oily.

The reason Huile de Palme is so good for you is exactly because we spend so much time stripping our hair of its natural oils. Hair actually needs some oils to stay bouncy, shiny and frizz-free.

Palme oil was recently featured in Town & Country: Wedding Styles so we thought there was no time like the present to fill you in on just how easy it is to use.

For thick or curly hair, pour a small amount in your palm and run a natural bristle brush over dry, styled hair for  instant shine and smoothness!

Seriously. That's it. Give it a whirl and let us know how palme oil changes your life! We promise it will.

Get Kate Upton's Sexy Sports Illustrated Beach Hair

How amazing does supermodel Kate Upton look on the cover of the new Sports Illustrated? While our husbands and boyfriends were busy ogling Kate's fantastic bod, all of us ladies in the office could not stop talking about Kate's hair.

As we slog through this wet winter weather, fantasies of tousled beach waves had already been flitting through our brains any way.

People Style Watch reported that Kate's fabulously textured beach hair was due to Leonor Greyl's amazing Mousse a la Volumatrice—and it is actually so easy to do!

From People:

"Her hair was a different story. Though stylist Peter Butler prepped as best he could, Mother Nature got in the way. “Take about 50 to 60 mile-per-hour winds,” he jokes of attaining her beachy waves, which he created using a 2-in. curling iron and Leonor Greyl mousse. “Usually beach hair is pretty natural and raw, so it’s more about trying to control it as much as possible, while still keeping it natural.”

Now about getting that bikini body???

Get Sofia Vergara's Super Sexy SAG Style

Sofia Vergara pulls off red carpet bombshell like no one else in Hollywood. This week's Screen Actor's Guild Awards were no exception.

Of course the "Modern Family" temptress pulled off her look with a little help from Leonor Greyl. We chatted with celebrity stylist Jen Atkin about her inspiration and how she achieved it to send Vergara walking down the carpet with flawless locks.

“We wanted to do something that complemented her dress and earrings and went for a pulled back low pony with a ‘60s feel to it,” Atkin told us.

"I used Leonor Greyl Volumizing Mousse all over Sofia’s towel-dried hair. Once the hair was blow-dried, I used Fekkai Dry Shampoo at the roots. I curled her ends with a T-3 1 1/2-inch curling iron, and pulled back into a long smooth ponytail. Then I used Phytologie Strong Hold Hairspray for fly-aways and on her ponytail."

Sundance Style

Posted by: jopiazza |
Tagged in: Untagged

We just returned from Hollywood in the mountains—the Sundance Film Festival. The indie film fest really packs a whole lot of glamour into just nine days. Everyone we spied, from Rashida Jones to Elizabeth Olsen to Helen Hunt looked absolutely stunning, even in the wintry mix of rain and sleet.

We recently had a chance to chat with hairstylist David Stanwell who created the looks of Dreama Walker and Helen Hunt for their premieres at the festival.

"For Helen Hunt’s look for the premiere of 'The Surrogate', I used Leonor Greyls Mousse Au Lotus Volumatrice and the Laque Souple light hairspray to lightly blow dry the hair," David told us.

"Being the second day without washing, I lightly dampened the hair then sparingly applied the Mousse Au Lotus Volumatrice to define the hair with a loose wave."

He then lightly sprayed the hair with Laque Souple to keep it intact then added the Serum de Soie Sublimateur to the ends and she was ready.

"The look lasted through snow and wind!"

For Dreama Walker’s premiere of 'Compliance', David went over her unwashed hair lightly with Leonor Greyls Serum de Soie Sublimateur in order to  re-curl the hair without damaging it.

"I created a soft beach wave with a braid in the front, which is a good way to keep the hair off her face."

Gorgeous!!!

Chatting Hair With Caroline Greyl

Posted by: jopiazza |
Tagged in: Untagged

Leonor Greyl CEO Caroline Greyl knows a little something about hair. The Columbia Business School graduate is committed every day to the excellence her parents, Leonor and Jean Marie envisioned for the company when they founded it four decades ago. We took a few moments to chat with our lady in chief about her personal hair care routine.

Tell us a little bit about your own hair care routine?

Caroline: I always apply Huile de Palme and detangle my hair before shampooing. I like to choose a shampoo according to the season, the country I am in and the result I am looking for. For example, when I travel to Singapore there is a lot of humidity so I like to use Bain Restructurant Banane to enhance my natural curls. The winters are dry in Paris so I like to use the Reviviscence. In the summer I use the Bambou to protect my hair from the sun. I switch between Lait Luminescence and Eclat Naturel as conditioners.

Which products really work for you?

Caroline: Eclat Naturel is a magic product and I always carry it in my purse.

Palme oil is also a must for me. When my hair gets dry after coloring I use the Lait Luminescence  to detangle and improve my hair style.

How does LG source such amazing natural products?

Caroline: More than 40 years of experience helps a lot and being aware of what raw materials are new on the market. We are also always listening to what people are looking for.

What is one of the more surprising things you have learned about hair working with the company?

Caroline: That hair is such an organic part of life  . You can tell a lot about a person just by looking at their hair.

Get Winner Jean Dujardin's Golden Globes Style With Leonor Greyl

Posted by: jopiazza |
Tagged in: Untagged

We swooned over Jean Dujardin's perfectly coiffed man locks the entire time we were watching "The Artist" in the theater.

He was just so dapper that he really didn't need to say a word. And when we thought he couldn't get any more adorable we saw Jean on the red carpet on Golden Globes night when his hair was groomed by the wonderful Louise Moon with none other than Leonor Greyl products.

"We wanted to create healthy, super shiny, movie star hair," Louise told us.

After first shampooing with Leonor Greyl Shampooing Au Miel, Louise massaged the stimulating Leonor Greyl Complexe Energisant ampoules into Jean's scalp and left the formula in without rinsing.

She then applied Leonor Greyl Mousse au Lotus Volumatrice from roots to end and blew dry for a thick, voluminous effect.

Once dry, she lightly smoothed in Leonor Greyl Huile de Palme beautifying oil.

"It creates a gloss that reflects light beautifully making Jean look like an absolute movie star," Louise said. It certainly does.

She finished by spritzing on Leonor Greyl Spray Structure Naturelle and gently running a fine-toothed comb through to keep hair perfectly in place without removing any body.

Divine!
